C&O Title Company, LLC is an affiliate of the law firm of Cochran & Owen, LLC, established to enhance services for the real estate needs of firm clients. The same level of service is also offered to the general public, the mortgage lending and the real estate services communities. In conjunction with the establishment of C&O Title, the law firm expanded its real estate litigation practice to include transactional real estate representation. The direction and business management of C&O Title Company is guided by an Executive Committee composed of the individuals whose biographical information follows.
Debby assists individuals, families and small business owners with all of their financial and estate planning needs. Her practice includes trust and estate administration, as well as the preparation of comprehensive estate plans, including all types of revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, charitable trusts, special needs trusts, dynasty trusts and powers of attorney. The December 2005 issue of Worth Magazine/Robb Report named Debby among the top 100 attorneys in the nation serving the needs of affluent individuals and their families. Washingtonian magazine named Debby a leading estate planning attorney in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Debby has also been selected as one of the best Trusts & Estates attorneys by The Best Lawyers In America for the 2005-06 and 2006-07 editions, which is compiled through an exhaustive peer-review survey. Additionally, Debby was selected in 2005 as one of the Legal Elite, a project of Virginia Business magazine in cooperation with the Virginia Bar Association.
Debby graduated with honors from Franklin and Marshall College in 1985, and then proceeded on to George Washington University National Law Center, where she received her Juris Doctor with high honors in 1988 and was a member of the Order of the Coif. Debby is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Prior to creating Cochran & Owen, LLC, Debby was a partner at Miles & Stockbridge and Squire, Sanders & Dempsey.
Drawing upon her background, Debby and her associates can provide a variety of services in all areas of estate, gift and income tax planning and related personal, business and tax matters. They provide their clients with information regarding a wide variety of sophisticated personal estate planning options, including charitable planning and business succession planning. They also advise new business clients on start-up issues and choice of entity questions, including limited liability companies and other business structures. Debby also assists her clients with asset protection issues and the establishment of prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Amy Owen is the other founding member of Cochran & Owen, LLC.
Amy maintains a commercial litigation practice and has extensive litigation experience involving intellectual property, financial institutions, employment matters, real estate and title insurance issues, commercial disputes, general insurance coverage and business torts.
Amy is a member of the Fairfax Bar Association ("FBA") where she recently served as the secretary of the Employment Law Section. She is the FBA's representative to the Community Action Advisory Board, which reports to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors. She is also a member of the Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia Bar Associations, the District of Columbia Women's Bar Association, the Northern Virginia Women's Attorney Association and the American Bar Association.
She was formerly a principal at Miles & Stockbridge, P.C. in the Tyson’s Corner office and later at Richards McGettigan, Reilly & West, P.C. in Alexandria, Virginia. After graduating cum laude from Wake Forest University in 1983, she attended law school at the University of Florida, College of Law, where she graduated with honors in 1986 and was a member of the Order of the Coif. She is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Dick Craig is Of Counsel to Cochran & Owen, LLC, and is the Managing Member of C&O Title Company, LLC.
The development of his real estate practice began during his law school days, when he began his practice searching titles in Northern Virginia. As a principal in a prominent area title insurance/settlement agency in the mid-seventies, Dick implemented one of the area’s first conversions to electronically generated document production and escrow accounting for real estate settlements.
Dick served as Vice President, Area Manager and Counsel for the Old Republic National Title Insurance Company from 1995 to 2006. He was responsible for the company’s title insurance operations in Virginia and The District of Columbia and for the company’s underwriting activities, claims administration and its network of title insurance agents in those jurisdictions.
Dick was also the principal in a builder/developer corporation for several years, working at the operational level in site and architectural design and development and custom and semi-custom residential construction.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the School of Government and Public Administration at American University in 1967 and his Juris Doctor from The American University, Washington College of Law in 1970. Dick has been admitted in all state and federal courts in Virginia since 1970.

Susan Jaeger is Operations Manager of C&O Title Company, LLC and a member of the Executive Committee. She is a title professional with over fourteen years of experience in the title insurance and settlement services industry.
Susan is responsible for the hands-on operations of the company, and she leads the group in the development and maintenance of work flow and software applications as well as marketing and customer relations.
Susan’s range of experience covers every aspect of the business of providing title insurance and settlement services to the public. Her influence is a significant factor in the company’s innovative business approach and its dedication to the highest possible degree of service, quality and efficiency. Susan maintains licenses as a Title Agent in Virginia and Maryland, and in other states outside the region. She is active in both Virginia and Maryland land title associations.
Susan was awarded a Bachelor of Arts from George Mason University in 1987 and holds numerous certificates in continuing education.
